Switchboard
About
Switchboard started in 2019 on a spare-room desk in Neukölln: one soldering iron, a box of second-hand switches and a friend who wanted a quieter keyboard for night shifts. Today we are a small team in Berlin that builds, tests and ships mechanical keyboard parts.
What we do
We sell switches, stabilizers, keycaps, hot-swap PCBs, keyboard kits, cables and the tools to put them together. Nothing goes on the shelf before one of us has built with it, so when a product page says a stabilizer rattles less after lubing, we have listened to both.
Who is behind it
Four people share the bench: Jana builds and tunes the kits, Mehmet tests switches and writes the sound notes, Lea packs every order and Tobias answers your questions. You will write to them, not to a chatbot.
What we care about
- Tested parts. Every switch batch is checked for stem wobble, spring ping and dead switches before it is listed.
- Repairable boards. We favour hot-swap sockets, standard layouts and parts you can replace yourself.
- Honest descriptions. If a keycap set is thin or a kit needs a firmware tweak, the product page says so.
- Fair packaging. Paper tape and recycled cardboard, no plastic filler.
